Thanks for checking in! I'll be out and and about from April to October 2008, but logging all my travels on my blog. Stay tuned with more postings.
Chellis Ying has been published in Best Travel Writing 2005, Best Women’s Travel Writing 2005, SoMa Literary Review, Driftwood Literary Review, Publishers Weekly and the SF Bay Guardian.
After graduating from Kenyon College in English literature [2001], Chellis took the advice of her writing professor, “If you want to write, go find something to write about.” She embarked on a two-year journey around the world: teaching English in suburbia China, volunteering in a Catholic orphanage in South Korea, windsurfing in a resort in Guam, and selling door-to-door paintings in Madrid. She returned to the U.S., much to her parents' delight, and received her MFA in Writing at the University of San Francisco [2005].
